Celluon: magic at your fingertips

If you need to stay connected at all times and places, this device will make things simple for you.

This weeks' device is: Celluon — an ultra-portable, full-sized virtual computer keyboard. It connects to your smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth and projects a virtual keyboard onto any opaque flat surface. It is also a multi-touch capable mouse and a handwriting recognition device.

This is the perfect device if you are always on the go writing emails, updating documents or stay in touch with others. Giving you the option to leave your heavy laptop at home.
This practical device allows input speeds greater than 50 words per minute.
It works with Apple, Android, Blackberry10 and Windows phones.

For a full operational demo, take a look at this short video clip:

  1. This is definitely a cool device. My only concern is that the actual feel of the keyboard gets lost when you're typing on a flat surface. Keyboards are set up in such a way that, with practice, you can type without looking down. Your hands might shift and move while typing on a flat surface, thus producing a lot of mistakes. I understand the concept, but I'm skeptical about the results.

  2. This is quite possibly the coolest thing I've seen in a long time. I thought it would be alot more expensive for what it offers. The video was really informative...I might have to start saving my money!

  4. The future is here! These are the kinds of things we saw on sci-fi shows and movies 10-15 years ago. Its so weird sometimes seeing the fictitious devices come to life that we use on a daily basis. Thanks Jane. Another reality check!

  6. I have been eyeing one of these for a while now. Not this particular model, of course, but I have seen a similar one on ThinkGeek.com that looks pretty darn cool. It's really amazing to see just how fast out technology has progressed up to this point. Great post!

  10. I've seen this tech years ago when it was still in development at a CES event. It's so cool that it's out now and I cannot wait to have it...I don't need it...but I wants!

  12. The Celluon does sound amazing, but is it weird that it also kind of freaks me out? I already click the wrong thing on a normal keyboard.. I can only imagine what I would accidentally do on a virtual one.
It makes it seem like you're in a CSI episode or something though, with their amazing futuristic gadgets.
    Great post, Jane!
